Need some cleaning tips for busy moms?
Let’s face it: when you have a baby, there’s not a lot of time for cleaning the house.
Most of your day is occupied with feeding, changing diapers, entertaining your baby, and trying to get them to take a dang nap.
So when you finally accomplish the impossible and get them to sleep (without laying on top of you) it’s almost paralyzing to know what to do with those precious minutes.
Should I do the dishes? Fold the laundry? Take a nap myself??
If you’re anything like me, tackling the dirty house a little at a time is pretty high on your priority list. It’s hard to properly relax when your space is exploding with stuff.
So I’ve put together this list of easy cleaning tasks you can do in less than ten minutes. Pick one, get it done, then enjoy some “you” time, mama!
Quick and Simple Cleaning Tasks You Can Do In Less Than 10 Minutes:
- Unload and reload the dishwasher
- Sweep the kitchen floor
- Clean the microwave
- Wipe down kitchen sink and countertops
- Take out all trash and replace trash bags

- Scrub the shower/tub
- Clean out fridge: throw out expired food and wipe down the shelves
- Tidy living room: put stuff back where it belongs
- Vacuum carpet/rugs
- Mop hard/tile floors
- Clean out your car

And here’s a few bonus cleaning tips while you’re here:
Cleaning Tips for Busy Moms
Keep A Bucket Under the Sink for Dirty Kitchen Towels
I used to use paper towels for everything, especially cleaning, until I finally got a pack of dish cloths.
Now I use a rag to wipe down my sink and countertops, then I just toss it in a bucket under the sink until it’s time to wash towels.
Use a Truly All Purpose Cleaner
Every since I became a mom, I’ve been extra intentional about using non-toxic products in our household.
I like to use the Thieves cleaner. You just mix a capful in a bottle of water and can use it just about everywhere!
I even use it to wipe down mirrors, and it doesn’t leave them streaky. It’s so much more convenient than lugging around three different cleaners just to clean the bathroom.
Work in Bursts
I’m a big fan of getting a lot done in a little amount of time. It’s amazing how fast stuff gets done when you’re “in the zone.”
A good way to implement this is to set a timer. When you challenge yourself to get as much done as possible in 15 minutes, the results are pretty incredible. You’ll find that stuff takes way less time than you imagined in your head.
With these quick and easy cleaning tips for busy moms, you can get your house clean ten minutes at a time.
